Affiliations
The following are Nexus affiliations whose members have collaborated in our research and advancement of transportation studies. The affiliations are both within the University of Minnesota and outside; we thank them all for their cooperation and assistance in our efforts of education and study.
Active Communities / Transportation (ACT) Research Group: A collection of students, faculty, and researchers at the University of Minnesota conducting research on land use-transportation policies and programs relating to active communities and/or active transportation.
Center for Transportation Studies (CTS): Created in 1987 to address the need for closer cooperation between University faculty and state and federal departments of transportation, and to strengthen the University's role in transportation research and education.
Certificate in Metropolitan Design: Metropolitan Design reflects a focus of this program on urban design in a metropolitan context. The certificate is currently open to graduate students in the College of Architecture and Landscape Architecture at the University of Minnesota, and is a college-based certificate.
Graduate Certificate in Transportation Studies: This graduate level certificate will help prepare professionals for leadership in this dynamic field, the Center for Transportation Studies and the Graduate School at the University of Minnesota have created a Graduate Certificate Program in Transportation Studies.
Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs: The Humphrey Institute is home to several research and outreach centers, lecture series, public education programs, and research projects.
State and Local Policy Program: The State and Local Policy Program (SLPP) has been active in research and outreach since 1991 as part of the Hubert H. Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs.
Minnesota Population Center: The Minnesota Population Center (MPC) is a University-wide interdisciplinary cooperative for demographic research.
Regional Science Association: Founded in 1954, RSAI is an international community of scholars interested in the regional impacts of national or global processes of economic and social change.
Transportation Research Board (Pricing Committee and Demand Forecasting Committee): The Transportation Research Board (TRB) is a division of the National Research Council, which serves as an independent adviser to the federal government and others on scientific and technical questions of national importance.
World Conference on Transportation Research Society: The objective of the WCTRS is to provide a forum for the interchange of ideas among transportation researchers, managers, policy makers, and educators from all over the world.
