A Short Introduction
My research focuses on transportation policy, planning and deployment, transportation and land use interactions, and travel behavior. I have authored and co-authored four books on transport Financing Transportation Networks, Assessing the Benefits and Costs of ITS, Access to Destinations, andThe Transportation Experience and have authored over 60 peer reviewed journal articles on topics ranging from transport economics and policy to traffic engineering studies. Prior to joining the University of Minnesota I was a researcher at the University of California, Berkeley. I am also actively involved with one committee of the Transportation Research Board of the National Academies: Transportation Demand Forecasting. I am also a member of numerous professional societies, including the International Association of Travel Behaviour Research, the World Conference on Transport Research, the Institute of Transportation Engineers, the North American Regional Science Association, and the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP).
